What is the tee time reservation policy?
General Public Play booking policies:

  • The general public may book seven days in advance for 18-hole starting times on the Island and Falls. 
  • The general public may book two days in advance for 9-hole starting times on the Island and five days in advance on the Falls.

Silver Spring Member booking policies:

  • Gold Member – Fourteen day advance booking on Island & Falls. Five day advance booking at Willow Run.
  • Falls Member – Fourteen day advance booking on Falls. Five day advance booking on Island and Willow Run. 
  • Sterling Club Member – Ten day advance booking on Island & Falls. Five day advance booking at Willow Run.

Does Silver Spring offer memberships?
Yes - although Silver Spring is a public facility, we offer Gold and Falls memberships as well as Range and Cart Passes for the avid golfer who wishes to have a private club experience without the normal waiting lists, high fees and monthly minimums. Silver Spring also offers the Sterling Club, which offers preferred times and rates for less than $100!

When do twilight rates apply?
Give us a call at (262) 252-4994 for more info. Sterling members enjoy one hour earlier twilight.

What is the rain check policy?
If the Club determines that the course is unplayable due to inclement weather, you will receive a rain check for all unplayed holes.

What is the dress code for playing golf?
Proper golf attire is encouraged. Golf shoes must have soft spikes. Collared shirts, golf mocks and turtlenecks are preferred, as well as Bermuda length shorts. Denim and t-shirts are allowed, but must be worn properly and free of rips and holes. Tank tops, halter tops, running shorts and cut offs are not permitted.

Is the course amenable to walking?
Walking is permitted unless otherwise specified. Pull carts are welcome.

What type of golf instruction is offered?
Private and group lessons are available - please call the Golf Shop at (262) 252-4666 or click here for more information.

When may juniors play golf?
Juniors may play weekdays anytime, and weekends after 1pm. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Head Golf Professional.

Does the Club offer rental clubs?
Yes, Silver Spring offers rental clubs. Please contact the Golf Shop for details at (262) 252-4666.

What is the Club's tipping policy for golf staff?
Gratuities are at the discretion of the customer.

May I make a special order in the Golf Shop?
Silver Spring is happy to work with you on any special order. Call (262) 252-4666 to place a special order.

May I redeem Silver Spring gift cards towards golf and Golf Shop merchandise?
Yes, gift cards may be used towards golf, food and merchandise purchases.

Do Silver Spring gift cards expire?
Effective January 1, 2013, any Silver Spring gift cards sold on or after January 1, 2013 will expire 5 years after the issued date.

What methods of payment are accepted?
Silver Spring accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover in addition to cash and checks.

Can I maintain a handicap at Silver Spring?
USGA handicaps are available at Silver Spring. Additional charge applies. Contact the Golf Shop for more details.

How do I request a charitable donation?
Silver Spring is very community minded, but please be aware that we receive more requests than we can accommodate. Regardless, we aim to be good corporate citizens, and we do favor those groups who do business with us. Give us a call at (262) 252-4994 for more info.

I collect golf scorecards. Can Silver Spring mail me one?
We receive many such requests and are delighted to accommodate. In consideration of shipping, handling and the scorecard cost we have made scorecards available for purchase at a nominal amount at our online shop.


Golf Outings FAQs

On what days does Silver Spring host outings?
Outings are available every day based on availability.

What time do outings typically tee off?
Shotgun start times vary by time of year, but generally speaking a morning shotgun tees off at 7:30am, and an afternoon tee off is at 1pm.

How much does it cost per player and what is included?
Rates vary by date and time of day.

What is the minimum number of players necessary to book an outing? How many players are needed to guarantee a shotgun start?
Player minimums vary by date and time of day; however, Silver Spring welcomes small groups as well as large. Special pricing begins at 20 or more golfers.

What is the process to reserve a golf outing date?
The important first step is to communicate with our golf professionals to discuss your event goals and to determine whether we have a suitable date for you. After that we will agree on services to be provided and finalize a price before sending a contractual agreement for your review and requesting a nominal deposit.

This is our first attempt at running a golf outing. Is there someone at Silver Spring who can guide us through the process?
Our professional golf staff is available to guide you in the planning and execution of a successful outing.

What options are available for novice golfers?
Our professionals can arrange clinics, putting contests, and other programs to accommodate infrequent golfers. We are always happy to customize a program specific to the needs of any group. With two golf courses Silver Spring is also able to host simultaneous outings of different skill levels, using different formats on different courses.

Who provides food for my event?
We have a professional culinary staff employed on-site to provide all your food and beverage related needs.

What food and beverage services are available during our outing’s golf round?
There is bar and grill service at the turn (Spikes) and you can also set up catering for the event. We have two fully-stocked beverage carts and on-course beverage stations.

Can Silver Spring help publicize my event?
Silver Spring sends weekly email updates to our customers and for an administrative fee of $100 we will be delighted to include up to five lines of email text to our customer list for two updates. Silver Spring reserves the right to edit text and refuse any such announcements.

Is it possible to reserve the golf course and other facilities for the entire day on an exclusive basis?
Yes, if the golf course has not been reserved by another group it is possible for your group to have exclusive use for the golf course for the day. Email outings@silverspringgolf.com or fill out the form on this page to begin the process.

If we have a small group do we have to pay for the entire golf course?
Small groups are welcome at Silver Spring and you need not pay for the entire golf course unless exclusive use is desired.

What is the highest number of golfers I can have at one time?
A shotgun start means that all participants begin their golf round at the same time on different holes. If you opt for the maximum number of participants you can start 144 players at the same time on one golf course. Silver Spring has two golf courses. This participation boost needs to be balanced against the impact it can have in slowing play. Some groups choose to maximize participation, while others cap their number of players at 100 players. This decision is up to you based on your goals, and our professional staff is delighted to help you in making these decisions.

Can Silver Spring help me identify prizes and giveaway items for participants?
We firmly believe that prizes and giveaway items help establish the tone for your event, and we see time and time again that participants appreciate an event that makes the extra effort to thank their participants. Our professional staff would be delighted to suggest items that would fit your needs. We have a fully stocked Golf Shop, and we can also order special items for you as well with enough advance notice. We can also help you offer items with the logo of your event and/or sponsors.

Can Silver Spring accommodate my golf outing's auction or ceremony indoors?
Yes - Silver Spring has multiple indoor spaces for you to choose from. We would be delighted to host the indoor portion of your event in any of these venues.

Can I sign a multi-year contract?
You are welcome to negotiate a multi-year agreement to secure your outing’s future, but you are by no means required to do so. Preferable rates are available for multi-year contracts.

What happens if I sign a contract, but then need to cancel or reschedule my event?
The details regarding what payments would be waived are listed in our golf outing contract agreement. Obviously we appreciate a high degree of communication in such situations and encourage as much notice as is possible.

What happens if it rains on the day of my outing?
If the Club determines that the golf course is unplayable on the event date as a result of inclement weather, there will be no penalty on golf charges; provided, however, that the Club will schedule an alternative date for the event to be played. If the event tees-off, but play is stopped due to unplayable conditions before the round has been completed, the Club will issue rain-checks to each player for the balance of holes not played.
